#WhenYouCareWeek A Week-Long Celebration of Care and Connection during national family Caregivers Month
Join me November 11th-15th, 2024, for #WhenYouCareWeek—a week dedicated to celebrating the transformative power of caregiving and the vital role it plays in our lives. Featuring insights from When You Care: The Unexpected Magic of Caring for Others, this week-long campaign will explore the joys, challenges, and importance of caregiving, interdependence, and equitable partnerships.
National Caregivers Month doesn’t generally explicitly recognize parents, focusing instead on the often overlooked of needs of those doing other types of care for old, ill and disabled individuals. But given the uphill battle ahead in the fight for care justice, we will to discuss care in all of the forms it takes. Because now more than ever, we are all in this fight together.
In collaboration with our amazing partners—The Parent Collective, The Fair Play Policy Institute, The Care Gap, Equimundo, The Mom Project, The Company of Dads, BeHerVillage, Fatherhood Unlocked, Hello Nanny, DILF (Dad I’d Like To Friend) Podcast, We Are Braver Together, and Josie —this campaign is designed to engage parents, caregivers, and their support systems in meaningful conversations about care. We’ll provide practical tips, foster community connections, and offer resources to help you rethink the way you approach care in both your personal life and workplace.
why we should care about care
Caregiving has always been central to both our homes and workplaces, yet it has often been overlooked and undervalued. As our lives become busier and more complex, it’s time to shift the narrative. Research shows that when we value care—both economically and culturally—we not only foster greater empathy and connection but also boost morale, workplace engagement, and overall well-being.
When You Care offers practical insights and is described as "real self-care for caregivers," making it the perfect gift for parents at any stage. Whether you're a new or experienced parent, this campaign will help you see care as a path to personal growth and meaningful connection.
